Last Sunday, 14 June, the 6th Cadre School: “Fatherland and Revolution” was held. The first session was devoted to the study of the Compendium on Cosmopolitanism, based on the works of the Soviet authors Chernov and Titarenko and the British communist Bill Bland. The session examined the reactionary and counter-revolutionary character of cosmopolitan ideology as a tool used by the system to undermine our national identity and sovereignty. It also explained the historical context of the Soviet Union’s struggle against cosmopolitanism during the 1940s and outlined the position that communists in Spain take on this issue today, emphasising the importance of upholding revolutionary patriotism.
The second session was devoted to the study of the philosophy presented in Antonio Gramsci's Prision Notebooks. We focused primarily on his theory of hegemony over the social masses and his most significant theoretical contributions. We also examined other key concepts, including his conception of leadership and political authority, as well as his distinction between civil society and political society.
The study of these works raises the theoretical level of our members and equips us to undertake the task of rebuilding the Spanish communist movement.
