Last Saturday, 13 June, the members of Reconstrucción Comunista gathered at Madrid's Almudena Cemetery to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the death of Antonio García Quejido. During the event, we paid tribute to his legacy of struggle. David Rubio, the organisation's spokesperson, spoke about Quejido's role in the trade union movement as one of the founders of the UGT, highlighting the genuine character of class-conscious, militant trade unionism, far removed from today's establishment trade unions, such as CC.OO. and the UGT.
Denís Paredes highlighted Antonio García Quejido’s revolutionary role as a founder of the Communist Party of Spain, his struggle against what he described as the PSOE’s betrayal, and how he continues to serve as an inspiration for the reconstruction of the Spanish communist movement today, which he argued has been destroyed by traitors to our class. More than ever, it is necessary to carry forward his legacy and fight against the traitors to our class through patriotism, socialism and revolution.
