Last Saturday, 13 December, the 5th Cadre School, “Homeland and Revolution”, was held, this time devoted to the study of the work of Michel Clouscard. Neofascism and the Ideology of Desire, key to understanding the ideological mechanisms of advanced capitalism and its contemporary forms of domination.
The first session focused on Clouscard’s arguments concerning the new society based on transgressive consumption, and on Freudo-Marxism as its legitimising force — a current which, under the appearance of individual liberation and a break with old norms, ultimately serves a profoundly submissive function within the capitalist system.
The afternoon session, meanwhile, consisted of contextualising — through Clouscard’s theoretical framework — the ideological postmodernism prevailing in contemporary society and how the various pseudo-struggles of anti-racism, feminism and queer theory queer become fully integrated into the logic of capitalism, standing in opposition to the interests of the working class.
With this new edition, we continue our commitment to theoretical education as the foundation of a conscious and organised practice that enables us to understand and transform our reality.
